Well, it seems like I have not been getting much better at updating this site. We’ve been busy preparing for Charlie’s arrival – we finally finished his nursery and just purchased the last item on our baby shopping list! We also had a great Labor Day weekend with Nana and Pop Pop and now with just FIVE more weeks to go we’re trying to enjoy these last few weeks of calmness!
Caroline has been so chatty lately and I can’t even begin to describe the cute conversations that we’ve been having together! This is one from a couple of days ago that I will have to document on the blog. This conversation occurred as we were picking out books for naptime and was really out of the blue..

“mommy, what is heaven doing?”
“hmm? heaven?” (I had no idea what she was saying)
“yeah, heaven. great grandma in heaven?”
“oh yeah, great grandma is in heaven”
“is she better now mommy?”
“great grandma? yeah, she’s better now that she’s in heaven. she’s happy.”
“she’s happy mommy? my meet her next time?”
“oh…maybe you’ll see her again, but you already met her when you were a small baby”
“charlie meet her?”
“no, charlie has never met her, but you have”
“oh. maybe charlie meet her next time”
Then after she woke up we were talking in her bed and she asks,
“My see great grandma again, Mommy?”
“Well, she’s in heaven and it’s really really far away, but you’ll see her someday”
“Only get to heaven on an airplane, Mommy?”
“Well, it’s so far that you can’t even get there on an airplane. You just have to wait a long time.”
“Maybe when I get a little bit bigger Mommy?”
“You’ll have to get much, much older. As old as Great Grandma.”
“Oh.”

It’s has been so amazing to watch her curiosity grow! Caroline has also started accessorizing! This is a picture of how she looks most mornings when we leave the house. Although, after spending a weekend with Nana’s watch on her wrist, she usually has one of my sport watches on as well. Inside her purse she usually carries two chapsticks, lotion, a couple of stickers, and a free bus ride coupon (that she says she will give to the bus driver when she goes to Daddy’s office). I can’t believe how fast she is growing up!

Okay, so you didn’t get her a watch after all I see. She’s wearing yours. She looks very adult, and I love that yellow dress! xoxo
